Pillbug Queen

I am the pillbug queen of the Commonwealth.

When I was working in my garden yesterday, I saw a common pillbug (Armadillidium vulgare). I made the ID – with some online help – based on the morphology of the pleon (see B in figure).

I looked it up on BugGuide and nobody had ever posted an observation of this species in Massachusetts in the month of March – It’s a BugGuide Record!!!
